Customers vary widely in how they choose to monitor their IT environments, two of the most common approaches we encounter are based on SNMP and Nagios.
With the release of XenServer 8, we added 2 new monitoring capabilities with the ability to monitor XenServer with both SNMP and Nagios.
We’d love feedback from you on what new monitoring capabilities you would like to see in future releases of XenServer. You can reach out to us at the XenServer LinkedIn account or email us at Feedback@XenServer.com.
We know there are many raving fans around the world of Nagios. If that’s you, now the NRPE agent is built into XenServer on installation. With XenServer 8, you can monitor your XenServers directly in the Nagios dashboard, along with everything else you are using Nagios for today.
SNMP is a widely used monitoring protocol used by all of the monitoring platforms. With added support for SNMP, you now have the added choice to monitor XenServer using the existing monitoring platform that you are using today.
